To start the New Year we have a great article about Vanga, a visionary celebrated across all of Eastern Europe, by Lassen Kobarelov. Then Michael Salla writes about Barack Obama, ETs and change. Next, Ed Komarek submits a contact case involving a Naval Officer and alien contact. Chris Holly writes about predictions made by her readers. Alexandra Holzer in her monthly column 'Spirit Talk' explores life, death and epiphanies. Theresa J. Thurmond Morris reviews 'The Day the Earth Stood Still' and finally Ron Murdock confronts sterilization! Thanks Dirk |

The Most Direct Connection...Between Earth and The Vamphim by Iassen Kobarelov. Toward the end of the 1970s, Krassimira Stoïanova and four of her friends, some Bulgarian scientists, left on an expedition to the mountains. Krassimira was told by her aunt, Vanga: If you (really) want to see something, go to the mountain on the 5th of May. There you will find a certain rock. Watch closely the first rays of the the sun and the moon. The young lady and her friends departed and then arrived at the scene on the day indicated. They found the rock on a mountainside in the midst of the wild and sparse vegetation, and recognized it simply based on Vanga’s description.

President-Elect Obama, Extraterrestrial Life, and Change You Can Believe In! by Michael E. Salla, Ph.D. We're nearing the end of 2008, and reports and sightings still abound. Any individual can find video, pictures, commentary, and perspectives of all different sorts by spending less than a half hour on the net. Once in a while, a large sighting makes the evening news. It's covered one day and dropped the next, with nobody really giving it much more thought. Some dismiss it. Others have a more laid-back approach. If they're here, they're here. They don't seem to be hurting anybody. In other words, most folks don't know of a person whom they believe to have been abducted.

Naval Officer's Extraterrestrial Contact by Ed Komarek. An extremely interesting extraterrestrial contact case is continuing to develop on the Open Minds Forum. I have previously written about the military’s UFO Working Group that took a UFO/ET pro-disclosure stance. It all began with leaks about secret UN/UFO meetings but evolved into leaks about an official extraterrestrial contact team’s experiences with at least three different types of extraterrestrials.

Our Readers 2009 Predictions Summary by Chris Holly. Many readers sent in their predictions for the New Year. I read them and found that you all came to three main conclusions on three major subjects. 97% of you predicted that the main event to occur in the year 2009 would be a Middle East War breaking out midyear that would control the time and attention of the entire world. 88% of you also predicted a large asteroid event missed by our watchful eyes hitting us causing damage to a populated area but not enough damage to cause worldwide change. I found many emails warning us of a city or town being hit by a wayward comet or meteor.

Epiphany Escalated Enlightenment by Alexandra Holzer. Grandmother on my husband's side passed, as so many others in our families, just before a noted time in our chaotic and stressful lives. This moment with Christmas falling upon us created a laggard and stalled feeling as if we were sucked into our own Twilight Zone episode. Reeling from all the prep work before Thanksgiving began, ended with the epiphany which escalated our enlightenment further about what truly matters in our short little lives.

An Alien Point of View on "The Day the Earth Stood Still" by Theresa J. Thurmond Morris. Having no idea what the movie would entail other than the actor Keanu Reeves better known in my mind as NEO, I sat next to my husband who has been off earth more than once. He seemed mildly amused at the beginning then sat back as if to shift gears into another realm of calm biofeedback internally while he absorbed the primitive scenes I asked him to endure one more time. Tom is not a one to enjoy movies or anything else on earth for that matter.

Sterilizing Life: Closer Than What We Think? by Ron Murdock. What I have to write is pure speculation. My theories are based on what I read in Huxley's Brave New World , Margaret Atwood's The Handmaid's Tale: A Novel and Orwell's 1984 . I do wonder what science and its masters have in store for us in the name of efficient living. As portrayed in Huxley's book human reproduction was replaced by babies grown in laboratories. I imagine authorities could pass this one off as a way of eliminating illness, disease, birth defects, and neurological disorders and keep a tight grip on maintaining a caste society. How many people would accept this to some degree or other remains to be seen? But the higher caste people portrayed in this book spend most of their free time in a comatose state, so it would be easy to slip by anything presented to them.
