Dr. Leary worked on a model of the nervous system with post-terrestrial circuits
|
!-Comment-! :: Prior
to the launch of Exopolitics as a term, field of research and rapidly
expanding global network - the field of ExoPsychology was pioneered in
the 1970s and 80s. Several authors of the era played a role in its
formation - many of whom seemed to be part of the wave of bizarre
'contact experiences' which happened to a core group at the time. These
included the infamous chanelling of "The Nine" [on which the Star Trek
follow-up was partly based] and contacts between Sirius entities
and futurist authors such as John C Lilly, Robert Anton Wilson
and Harvard Professor and counter-cultural psychonaut Timothy
Leary.
As Exopolitics has grown in recent years - few have spared time to
reference the field of ExoPsychology yet this is key to our
understanding of both exopolitics and the wider implications of contact
with visting cultures. The UK site contains several references to the work of Leary et al - including a piece by Carol Rosin
who was present at Leary's death... an act broadcast live online as of
course Leary the prankster performer had planned.
In addition the S.M.I².L.E. acronymn was referenced
along with wider exo-psychology issues in the article published in a
recent Exopolitics Journal - Deep Politics, End-Games and Agendas: How Exopolitics Can Offer Avenues to Resolve Population Reduction and Other Eco-Conundrums - available in our downloads and documents archive here.

News Release From Exopolitics.com :: EXOPOLITICS MEDIA NOTE: Like Exopolitics, Exopsychology makes a debut in British Columbia, CANADA
VANCOUVER, B.C. - Eight years ago, in the year 2000, EXOPOLITICS.COM,
devoted
to Exopolitics, the new political science of outer space, was born in
Vancouver, B.C., Canada around a term first coined in the
Vancouver-authored book EXOPOLITICS: POLITICS, GOVERNMENT AND LAW IN THE UNIVERSE.
Now, in the year 2008, Michael Gintowt of Vancouver Island, B.C.,
Canada is pioneering around a word psychologist Timothy Leary first
coined in 1977 -at EXOPSYCHOLOGY.NET.
Michael Gintowt defines Exopsychology as "the study of human readiness
for Extraterrestrial Interaction. How can we evolve our minds and
cultures enough to be ready?" His website www.exopsychology.net notes:
*
Timothy Leary first coined the word in 1977, and the field was proposed
in 1990 by Albert Harrison and Alan Elms. The roots of exopsychology
can be traced to Jung, Transpersonal psychology, and others.
*
There are several questions to be answered, including "How will we know
we are ready for ET contact?", "How can people be inoculated against
disinformation?" and "What are the qualities required of an
exopolitician?
* Several branches of psychology and anthropology have relevant research findings
* Modern movements such as the Bioneers also contribute relevant material.

What is Exopsychology?
Michael Gintowt, who has a Master's degree from Concordia University in Montreal, Quebec, has posted a master paper on Exopsychology, and invites us to become involved in defining this new field:
Exopsychology: the psychology of human readiness for contact with Extraterrestrial Intelligence.
This is a forum to explore, clarify and extend the
notion of exopsychology, differentiate it from xenopsychology,
parapsychology and transpersonal psychology and make some tentative
links to the emerging field of exopolitics. I hope this will become a
collective task, because significant outcomes are the result of
combined effort. I hope you will contribute and help define this new
field. The plan is to elaborate upon many of the points below in a
series of essays, and to invite comment, elaboration, refutation and
collaboration.
Questions.
-
Are we, as a species, ready for ET contact and
interaction? How can we articulate, define, enhance and monitor the
evolution of our human consciousness?
-
What constitutes such readiness? How would we know we are ready?
-
What is the present range of probable reactions to unequivocal, massive ET disclosure (ready or not)?
-
What can or should be done to help prepare humanity for ET presence? What can individuals do prepare themselves?
-
What is the relationship between exopolitics and
exopsychology? What are the qualities, preparation and training
required of an exopolitician?
-
How can we inoculate the public against the nefarious
manipulations of the Military Industrial Complex (MIC), who might be
inclined to engender fear of ETs in order to further consolidate
control, and to further their agenda?
-
From an ET perspective, with what kind of human are they most likely to desire an interaction
