The following press release has been received by many in the UFO community and has caused a great deal of excitement as to the prospect of a huge release of information.

So what will we actually discover? Are we going to find a ‘smoking gun’? Probably not, but we will certainly discover plenty of additional information that will strengthen the argument that UFOs are a reality and despite their protestations the MoD do take the situation seriously. Every document released raises further questions and has taken us further into the vaults of the MoD. This release will allow us to make greater judgments on where we as a community take our investigations next. 

What is quite interesting is that a number of files due for release were never seen by the public ‘UFO desk’, which echoes my beliefs that there is a two-track system for UFO related information within the MoD. This is an important point which needs probing further if we are to understand the true extent of the MoDs involvement in the UFO phenomena.

But what it also shows us is that the governments of the world are starting to cascade information out to the public at large. The Mexican government have been releasing some amazing footage recently. The Brazilian government are also very vocal in releasing information, the French have recently released a large amount of information and now our own Ministry of Defence are following suit.

Are we finally seeing a more concerted awareness campaign to educate the public at large? It is certainly possible, it is generally agreed that a slow ‘drip-drip’ effect is generally better for educating people who may have difficulty opening to something outside their normal reality, so it will certainly be interesting to see how the media at large respond to this as they are pivotal in influencing the public.

We are living in very interesting times: with the Governments of the world struggling to keep things hidden from a more media-savvy public, with the power struggle between the doves and hawks in regards to educating the public and with the increasing pressure from the UFO community, we may be on the brink of greater times ahead…
