In this interview, Ex-Ministry of Defence UFO-Desk official Nick Pope gives us the run-down on the famous UK cases but also provides more detail on the process of evidence release and what can be expected. The UK's announcement follows the earlier French move which saw the website they'd set-up for the purpose crash from demand on the first day of business. Interesting how we're constantly told this area holds no interest for most people when we see repeated evidence of the opposite being true. Nick mentions the fact that 'a certain form of disclosure' has been going on for some time in the UK via official material releases on cases such as Rendlesham and RAF Cosford. From an exopolitical point of view, although this move towards greater openness is welcomed, it's pretty certain that we'll still be dealing with the usual evidence formats when we are of course aware of this data-set already. Now if the military and political structures as a single entity agreed to match Nick's conclusion after his work in the area -  maybe, as far as public consciousness goes, we'd be moving forward.

George Noory welcomed the former leader of the British Government's UFO Project, Nick Pope, for a discussion on UFO cases and disclosure. The Ministry of Defence, which has been studying UFOs since 1950, is preparing to release previously classified UFO files in three phases, Pope reported.

Freedom of Information requests have already led to the release of material on the UK's most famous UFO case-- the Rendlesham Forest Incident, which took place over a series of nights in 1980 (selected documents can be viewed here). Indentations in the ground left by the craft were found to have high levels of radiation as well as nearby tree branches, he detailed.

Pope also reviewed the Cosford Incident, in which sightings took place over an Air Force Base on March 30, 1993. Military personnel reported seeing a large triangular-shaped craft fire a narrow beam of light into a field, as though it was looking for something. A low frequency humming was heard, and a witness said the craft, which had been moving slowly, suddenly shot away at a high rate of speed. Pope announced that he was recently booked to appear at the upcoming X-Conference in Washington, D.C., this September.
