Exopolitics Awards given at Conference

At the Leeds event, just prior to the final talk, two UK awards for work in the exopolitics field were given out for those who have represented and catalysed the concept of exopolitics internationally.

The first was to the Gary McKinnon campaign for their refusal to accept an unfair extradition system and as a result they highlighted many aspects that are core to what exopolitics is about - truth seeking, free energy, closeted technology and exploration of the extra-terrestrial 'Other'. Gary and family were invited to the event but given the current legal and political situation they could not attend and the award will be given to them soon.

Second award went to Mr Stephen Bassett as he's spent 14 years embodying what exopolitics is about along with standing for Congress on the 'ET Ticket' not to mention his constant readiness to take on all forms of media on the wider issues of big 'D' Disclosure. Steve continues to stage events in Washington despite it not being the easiest thing to do in the current global economic climate.

Steve responded on collecting the plaque: "14 years of activism in this community and that's the first ever award..!"

This award giving bit was only filmed from one distant camera due to the usual event bouts of mis-communication - i have a copy but if anyone has one they did themselves please let me know.

The DVD presentation of 'Hacking Away at Truth: Gary McKinnon and the Secret Space Fleet' will be available soon along with Steve's talk called "The Exopolitical Evolution" and other event footage.

Hi - I just worked on the line-up and the Searl film and event. I've been told I'm having no input on any future events. I'm due to put a newsletter out discussing some current issues about the direction of the UK movement. The Leeds promoter [Anthony Beckett] decided to call himself "Exopolitics UK" and establish a bank account and business website www.exopoliticsuk.com for this reason.

My point all along has been that the two UK .org domains i run are non-profit news and information sites that are linked to the wider Exopolitics World Net. I don't think you'll get too far mentioning anything - I'm just letting this move on their own at present and staying out of it all.

If you can let me have an email address for the person that was responsible for setting the pricing policy, I would be more than happy to make a similar point to them personally. One a related note.... it would appear from what you imply that persons unconnected with the organisation are being allowed to use the Exopolitics name and identity to promote profit making initiatives which the organisation has no control over. If this is the case, it is very unwise to allow this to happen in my opinion. Exopolitics is fast becoming a worldwide \\\'brand\\\' and the last thing it needs is to be laid open to gaining a reputation for blatant commercialisation of the disclosure issue.

I was involved in the whole event line-up but especially so with regards the special John Searl event and film premier. Unfortunately I came across several people who could not afford the special event as a separate charge was being made for this in addition to paying the main ticket cost. My suggestions to discount people waiting to get in or to just let them in did not go down too well with those holding the purse strings I'm afraid. Several attendees contacted me after the event to say they were in the position of having the choice to eat that night or get in to the Searl film and event. This was a situation that should not have come about in the first place.

MicMan - I actually agree with the main thrust of your comments. It should be noted that this organisation had no sway over the ticket pricing structure and is in NO WAY associated with the DVDs, baseball caps, mugs etc that have suddenly appeared on the scene. These are the brainchild of Exopolitics Leeds which is unrelated to this site and organisation.

It's hard staging *international* type quality events these days though as air fares are high and decent venues hard to come by at good rates. Add to this the fact ppl are all too happy to entertain themselves in their own homes rather than go out and you see some of the issues.

The cost of this conference to delegates was totally disproportionate to the content . At well over twice the cost of last years event, I understand that it was not particularly well attended, and this is undoubtedly why. Whilst I support the movement in principle, the obvious creeping commercialism which is fast becoming a feature, is most unwelcome and undermines the movements aims. £175 for a boxed set of probably average quality DVDs is completely outrageous. If you want the UK movement to gain support you need to rein in this thinly disguised attempt to profit from delegates.

Steve Bassett is the one who has got disclosure dates wrong constantly - what's the award for - innacurate use of a crystal ball?? :)
