Exo UKExo Blog Translucent Orbs Visit South Coast UK June 25th
"It's time to open the books on the question of government investigation of UFOs. It ought be done because it's right. And it ought to be done because it's the law."
VIDEO FOOTAGE - TRANSLUCENT ORBS VISIT THE SOUTH COAST OF THE UK INCREDIBLE FOOTAGE FROM JUNE 25th 2007
This footage was taken in the 60th anniversary week of both the 1947 Maury Island Incidentand theKenneth Arnoldsighting; two events which set up the modern narrative of "ufology" in terms of its form and structure as we know it today: anomalous craft, credible observers, men in black, intelligence involvement (FBI and military), hoaxology, rumours, deaths, pulp fiction and denial et al. June and July 1947 saw an incredible number of sightings, the question is, have the inhabitants of these crafts read Thomas Kuhn and his concept of sixty year paradigm shifts in consensus reality, will 2007 be looked back upon as the year when high weirdness decloaked?
The video features some amazing close up footage of a series of large translucent orbs slowly travelling in pairs across the night sky. The footage was taken by Kevin Price on a working class council estate called Thornhill in Southampton, England on the 25th June 2007 approx 9:30pm. In a short interview with the Southern Daily Echo newspaper, he had this to say:
"They were moving in a perfectly straight line and were very smooth...I'm quite sceptical about UFOs but it was really strange - really weird."
Whats interesting about the footage apart from the naturalistic narrative and quality of the footage are the remarks through out the short video drawing attention to the huge size of the objects, that and the fact the objects were travelling in pairs.
Its also worth noting that in the last week there has also been a huge amount of chemtrail activity over the UK skies and a few people have also reported cognitve dysfunction or at the very least a slowing down of the synaptic exchange. Are all these events related on a deep level or indeed are these all part of the same meta-event?
This seems to have been a night of anomalous sky activity as this extract from the following UFOINFO report from Old Basford in Nottingham which took place around 5-6hrs later and 170 miles north suggests:
"It was hovering quite low above the roofs of houses and I could see the reflection from the lights as it reflected on the roofs. This was between the hours of 2am and 3am GMT...my son couldn't see the colour of the U.F.O. due to the brightness of the lights. The lights were round like little spotlights."
While you cannot convince the debunkers with facts or any quality of video, addicted as they are to the soothing linguistic opioids of lanterns, helicopter lights, venus and hoaxes. For the rest of us in the UK however celebrating the 60th Anniversary of Maury Island and the Kenneth Arnold sighting, this video and the sighting report is a clear sign that high weirdness is just around the corner.
UPDATE AUGUST 2007
MYSTERY SOLVED....THEY WERE CHINESE LANTERNS: EVERYBODY BACK TO SLEEP.
According to the Southern Daily Echo who originally released the video before Exopolitics UK picked it up, the mystery was solved very quickly:
Here is the full article below
Note: the web article is dated 27th June 2007 (the footage was shot on the 25th June and uploaded to their website on the 26th June.
GLOWING orange lights filmed above the Southampton night
sky were Chinese lanterns not flying saucers, it has emerged. A family
spotted the UFO activity and recorded the glowing lights moving slowly
over the Thornhill estate.
The video on the Daily Echo website attracted huge interest from readers and was featured in yesterday's Echo.
But Michael Gibbons, 65, today revealed the strange lights were flying lanterns released at his party, held to mark the renovation of his house.
"Somebody got them off the Internet, brought them to the party and let them go. There were about ten of them. You
can see them for miles. I was quite amazed when I read the story in the
Echo. I'd never seen them before but there are really effective to look
at. They must have been three miles away and you could still see them.
If I didn't know what they were I would have thought the same."
The
lanterns were released in Chaucer Road on Saturday, half a mile away
from where they were filmed in Holcroft Road. Flying lanterns are a
traditional Chinese communication tool dating back thousands of
years. They were invented in the third century for use a military
signals. Today they are a popular feature at festivals, particularly
the full moon festival in Taiwan. Many now see them as an alternative
to fireworks.
A spokesman for the lantern company wishesinthesky.com said:
"We've heard of many UFO sightings which have turned out to been flying lanterns. The UFO Society has followed this with interest."
He said the flying lanterns were becoming very popular at weddings, funerals and parties.
COMMENT
Chinese Lanterns have now joined the soothing
semantic chorus of 'obvious fake', 'weather balloon', 'Venus', and
'ball lightening' sung by the commercial media, mainstream science,
debunkers and the mass hordes of the ATS (arrogant teenage sceptics)
alike.
The year 2007 has witnessed an explosion of both sightings
and video footage of anomalous sky phenomena here in the UK. These
sightings appear to be growing exponentially as the year moves on.
Likewise,
if you look at the reports in the local and national press,
particularly concerning the 'orb' sightings, the phrase "they were only
Chinese lanterns after all"
